COVID 19 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
We at Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center take the health and welfare of our residents seriously. We have been closely monitoring websites such as CDC (Center's for Disease Control), NYSDOH (New York State Dept. of Health) and CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and WHO (World Health Organization) in order to keep abreast of the latest developments regarding the Covid 19 virus. Based on the information provided by these sites we have made the decision to immediately suspend all visitation at our facility.
We will be updating this page daily by 2PM. Please monitor this page for any changes within our facility as it relates to the Covid 19 Virus.
Please understand that this is a very fluid situation and please be patient with us as we are all entering uncharted territory.
At this time there are no current cases of Covid 19 in the facility or in Tompkins County. Our residents have been informed of the decision to suspend visitation. We are currently working on getting a system of using "Skype" (or other video conferencing app) so that residents will be able to enjoy visits from their family. Scheduling will undoubtedly present a slight problem so once again please be patient. If you wish to drop items off to your loved one you will still be able to drop items off at the reception desk. At this time it will be important that our families send cards and letters to our residents. Maintaining as much contact as possible will prove to be very valuable.
We will be updating this page at least daily. Please monitor this page for changes within the facility as well as keeping pace with how we plan to allow you to maintain contact with your loved ones.
PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS!!!
